Heichalei Oneg youth movement was founded in 5762 (2002) in the aim of shaping and molding the future generation of women in Hasidut Gur (Gur Hasidic sect) out of the joy of youth, using the power of the group to realize spiritual aspirations and essential existence goals.
Heichalei Oneg believes that by means of informal education gained through experiences, which fosters openness and ingenuity and allows for utilizing capabilities and abilities not expressed in formal education, it is possible to instill in youth hope for the future, optimism and cooperation, which will lead to identification with the central values, their internalization and application.
Heichalei Oneg has more than 20 chapters.
The youth movement’s vision rests on the principles of Hasidut Gur (Gur Hasidic sect) as formulated by the great ones of previous generations. These principles draw their vital importance from several defined foundations: unity (love of friends, mutual giving, caring and genuine and real joy in the joy of others); modesty (gentleness that leads to not standing out); belief; enthusiasm (there is no need for the youth movement to create the enthusiasm, only to guide, direct and derive the desired benefit); Hasidism.
Heichalei Oneg strives for the adolescent girls’ involvement, responsibility, social commitment and tolerance, as well as to their self, social and personal realization.
The youth movement places emphasis on developing the leadership of the future generation through training activity and self-realization.
Heichalei Oneg supports instilling the value of giving through structured volunteering of its members in contributing to the community, helping families in distress, providing support and assistance to special needs children, in after-school care and enrichment frameworks (moadoniot), and in assisting the elderly, both in their home and in visits to senior citizen homes and various institutions.
The youth movement cultivates striving for excellence in three areas: the personal, the social and the value-based. The cultivation is reflected in activity programs and in focused activities in the summer and on vacations
